SEO Content Writer (Mid-Level)

About the Role

We are looking for a mid-level SEO Content Writer to join our on-site SEO team. This role is ideal for someone who has a solid grasp of SEO fundamentals and content best practices and is ready to take ownership of content execution across multiple clients.

You will work closely with the SEO Leadership, account managers, and other content and tech team members to produce, optimise, and maintain high-quality SEO content aligned with defined search intent and business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce SEO-focused content based on approved briefs and clearly defined search intent
  • Optimise existing content for on-page SEO, topical relevance, and user clarity
  • Integrate target keywords naturally while maintaining readability and brand tone
  • Structure content using clear headings, logical flow, and internal linking best practices
  • Support metadata optimisation (titles, descriptions, URL guidance) in line with SEO requirements
  • Deliver content in alignment with sprint plans, editorial calendars, and agreed timelines
  • Review and provide feedback on drafts produced by Content Associates or Interns
  • Maintain consistency in tone, formatting, and content standards across clients

What We’re Looking For

Required

  • 2–4 years of experience writing SEO-driven content
  • Strong understanding of search intent and on-page SEO fundamentals
  • Ability to interpret SEO briefs and execute with minimal supervision
  • Excellent written English with strong attention to clarity and structure
  • Comfortable working on-site in a collaborative, deadline-driven environment

Preferred (Nice to Have)

  • Experience with local SEO or multi-location businesses
  • Familiarity with tools such as Google Search Console, Ahrefs, or Semrush
  • Experience using large language models (LLMs) effectively, including prompt writing, context setting, and content refinement
  • Prior experience in an agency or multi-client setup

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Performance in this role will be evaluated using a balanced set of qualitative and quantitative KPIs. These are designed to measure content quality, SEO effectiveness, consistency of execution, and collaboration rather than output volume alone.

Content Quality & Execution

  • Brief Adherence Rate: Accuracy in following approved SEO briefs, including intent alignment, structure, and keyword integration
  • Editorial Quality Score: Clarity, logical flow, grammar, formatting, and adherence to brand tone with minimal revisions required
  • Revision Efficiency: Average number of revision cycles per piece before approval

SEO Performance (Post-Publication)

  • Search Intent Satisfaction: Content meets the intended informational, commercial, or transactional intent as defined in the brief
  • Ranking Contribution: Improvement or stability of target keyword rankings for assigned pages (contextual, not sole responsibility)
  • Organic Traffic Growth: Measured at the page or content cluster level over defined timeframes
  • Engagement Signals: Page-level metrics such as scroll depth, time on page, and bounce rate, where applicable

On-Page SEO & Optimisation

  • On-Page SEO Compliance: Proper use of headings, internal links, metadata inputs, and semantic optimisation
  • Content Refresh Impact: Performance improvement of optimised or updated content compared to baseline

Delivery & Process

  • Timely Delivery Rate: Content delivered in alignment with sprint plans, editorial calendars, and agreed deadlines
  • Workflow Reliability: Consistency in meeting commitments without last-minute escalations
  • Documentation & Handover Quality: Clear notes, comments, and rationale provided during submissions and revisions

Collaboration & Ownership

  • Feedback Quality: Constructive, actionable feedback provided to Content Associates or Interns
  • Cross-Team Collaboration: Effective coordination with SEO strategists, account managers, and tech teams
  • Autonomy Score: Ability to execute briefs independently with minimal clarification over time
